Spammers Using Copyright Notices…

Hello folks.  I’m sure many of you are well-aware of my general dislike for copyright, but particularly as it relates to restricting private individuals.  Well tonight I got a spam email from one of these do-it-yourself business scammers, and it seems like this is a real company.  For some reason these idiots thought that I would comply with their privacy and copy prohibition notice.

This is probably a bit mean of me, but I’m putting this post up just to make sure that the folks over at franalysis.com know that I’m not interested in their scam, and that I do not agree to their privacy or copy prohibition notice.  Petty?  Probably.  I’m just tired of being harassed by scam businesses and I’m tired of idiotic copyright notices.

  1. Hey Man!

I just got the same message. Same contact and everything, but no email address. Just a mention of some website that doesn’t exist. I googled their website and found your post.

    Silly Spammers…

Oh, and thanks for posting! Now I can see what kind of fantastic deal (not) they are offering me!

And what a coincidence! I am having chicken for dinner. It is in the oven as I speak. I hope it wasn’t a relative of yours…

And by the way nice blog site!
I’ll have to stop back by.

  2. I love when someone exposes spammers like this! Thank you so much you saved me the trouble of having to do it myself. Just out of curiosity, how much time do you think they actually spend putting all this together just to have it end up on a wonderful blog site like this? Better luck next time Michelle (last name removed). Thanks again – C

  3. I received it today, as well. You’d think they’d come up with something that wasn’t such an obvious, transparent spam. Certainly not a very creative bunch there, Michelle! Sadly, they most likely rely on the old quote, “there’s a sucker born every minute”.

  4. I just received a similar email (posted below). As an IT guy, my antennas immediately went up. After a couple of Google searches, I came upon this blog. GOOD JOB and thanks!
    Stupid idiots.
This is the email I have received.

I’ve reviewed your resume, and your skills and experience match those of
many other senior-level executives I’ve assisted in the past. My job, as a
franchise coordinator, is to help highly motivated professionals, with
long-term successful track records, who wish to leave dead-end corporate
jobs, become successful business owners. Through a vast network of
franchisors available I am confident you will find something that suits
    your needs.

My goal is to help you research and find a business that best suits your
lifestyle, experiences and financial goals. Most importantly, the research
and application process costs you nothing. Our affiliates get paid by the
franchisor if and when you open your doors for business. This is not a hard
sell and I am not here to push you. I am simply here to inform you of other
avenues or opportunities available you may have overlooked. I’ve seen a
growing trend of professionals, such as yourself, as well as baby boomers
that have taken the leap towards a life that allows the flexibility of
    being a business owner.

industries, or would just like to learn more, please feel free to visit us

My most successful executive relationships start with someone who:
    – is looking to get out of the corporate world and own in a small business.
    – wants to travel less and have the flexibility of setting personalized
    hours.
    – has recently accepted a severance/early or normal retirement/executive
buy-out/other similar package from their employer.
    – has always dreamed of owning a business and is serious about making that

  5. Same thing here. Same message as the first one, but with ‘Van Sickle’s name on it and a different website.
I am not posting it because it will get them a lot of web hits for people going to check it out.
I hate spammers. I hate scammers more. But most of all I despise those heinous parasites which try to take advantage of people looking for honest employment.

  6. This is exactly why I don’t like posting my resume on these career websites. Although there are legitimate companies reviewing your resume, you get flooded with non-sense such as franalysis!. I have to agree with the other comments! I appreciate you putting this info up. These type of companies prey on individuals that are job searching. Again….much appreciated!

  7. I got the same e-mail today from http://www.fran—-.com. Same name and address as fran-partners. Almost the exact same wording too. I had a feeling it was a scam or something not legitimate so I Googled it and found this site.
It’s sad that there are people who prey on those of us who are looking for legitimate work!
Thanks for putting this up for those of us who want to check it out first.

  11. This abhorrent, thieving game has gotten out of control !!!!

Why aren’t the responsible parties charged with Robbery? The effects of online scams are much more destructive and permanent than some wayward kid hitting up a 7-11 to impress his friends. If given the slightest chance, these ID thieving wanna-be’s, will take absolutely everything !! Unfortunately, there are always naive people, down on their luck who think that their ship has come in !!! Typically, the Spam victims are undereducated, hopeless and supporting multiple children, a spouse and/or aging relatives. (The Spam mothers must be so proud)

These creatures represent the lowest life form known to man ………
The Spam-Maggot. They are most often found at the bottom of a nauseatingly foul, filthy, fetid, feces infested barrel.

I ask her about the Spamming and complaints on Ripoffreport.com and she told me to Fuck off and hung up. She says she is a “partner” in the firm. Its a complete scam.

  13. ALSO, beware of Michell’s business partnet and fellow spam-scammer JOHN MEDWITZ. Same thing, they search job sites and try to prey on the unemployed, laid off folks who are looking for legitamte jobs.

Here is a letter from JOHN MEDWITZ.

    Hi John,

First off let me just say that I really do appreciate your kind words regarding my resume and work portfolio… or, at least, I would appreciate them had you sincerely meant them.

It is quite obvious that you are crawling/scraping websites containing resumes, then parsing those resumes for names and–of course–e-mail addresses. Once you have harvested this information, you–quite illegally and in blatant violation of the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003–send unsolicited e-mails pretending to have actually read the person’s e-mail, and giving them false hope of potential job opportunities.

The ironic twist of fate is had you hired someone of my competence to code the script/software you are using, I would probably not have noticed you were a scammer.

Furthermore, my name is not, “Sculpture”… my name is Shaun. “Sculpture” is what your scraping software assumed my name was due to me listing my fine art abilities as “Drawing, Sculpture”, which your software assumed was “(Last Name), (First Name)”

I am not one to spend time pursuing SPAM, however, I especially dislike people–such as yourself–whom pry and feed on others’ hopes and dreams… especially when it comes to career opportunities. Thus, rest assured that as soon as I finish this e-mail, I will take the needed steps to pass your information along to the FTC.

    Have a wonderful day!
    Shaun

  14. Hello Ms Busy Body B _ _ _ h!
What the H e _ _ are you writing me for? I never requested to own my own business. Do not contact me again and I WON’T have to respond with such a nice question. Find something else to do. Your repeated email is “BORING” and obviously a SCAM!

  15. January 10, 2009: I received the infamous Michele Van Sickle email within 24 hours after posting an on line application with Career Builders. Additionall, 3 more spam messages were received. Without a doubt, Career Builders is selling customer data to spamers. Too bad.

  16. First I want to thank you for bringing this to OUR attention. I also received the infamous Michelle Van sickle S/B Sickly. email.Same here I am just trying to get a LEGITIMATE job, have been laid off after 11 LOYAL years of service and some wacko preys on us. Let me stop now because this really burns my ass!! What low lives they are- can’t they get real work? I’m tired of dishonest people.

  17. I got it too. Word for word. When you do have an extensive impressive resume and have recently laid off because of the current economy it post like yours that help weed through the b.s. Thank you very much! I would also look out for c4 connections. Google it and check out the scam report.

  18. I have been receiving numerous messages such as this one. Not can possibly hurt an unsuspected person, but the recruiting industry as a whole.

  19. This was my reply to dear Michelle:
( I live in Dallas maybe I’ll pay them a visit, they are about five miles from my house. )

    Dear Michelle,

Thank you for taking an interest in my financial future. I am always looking for new opportunities.
I was very intrigued by this I found on your website:

Guidant Financial group was founded to provide safe and innovative ways for investment through use of retirement funds. Today, Guidant is the leading provider of business and self-directed funding solutions. Through the use of our Audeo™ 401(k) financing plan, a buyer can use IRA or 401(k) funds to purchase a new or existing business or franchise without taking a taxable distribution or incurring penalties.

Sounds great doesn’t it ? Taking the hard earned dollars I saved and squandering on a dubious business opportunity. I am moved seeing how so many people are willing to help separate me from what I have left. However I can do that on my own.
The added factor is that it will be a hell of a lot more fun if I do it myself.

Thank you again for your interest

    Gustavo

  20. Got the same message, am an RN and was on CareerBuilders as well. I agree, it is a shame that these preditors prey on those of us who WANT to work and have to go through that with the unemployment rate at an all time high. Thank you for this site. It just didn’t sound right. What RN runs a “franchise”. I wish there was a way that this crap could be regulated as if Congress or the FCC could do anything about it nor would do so anyway. JERKS!

  21. Got the same message yesterday after i updated my careerbuilders account. They are really trying to hurt people. The email sounded to good to be true. What Franchisor would absorb the cost for this service…..That didn’t make sense at all. I went to the website just to review the information. I found all kind of errors. I agree with everyone else!

  22. Wow, and to think, I almost had my own business. Well the thought was great while it lasted. I appreciate people posting blogs such as this. I take it to the next level and post them with the BBB all the time. The good thing is, (we) actually are starting to take the time out to really look and research before we are conned. You would think that there were laws to prevent this type of fraudulent works from happening. Sad.. One day we will all come up with a creative idea to con them back, just to feel some type of justice… Sounds good already!

  23. A mere 4 hours after signing up to careerbuilder, the only email I got was spam from franlook.com and thelionheartgroup.com.

What pisses me off aside from the spam is they claim to have looked at my most impressive resume. If they had, they’d realize I wasn’t looking to go into MLM. If I did I’d be a sheep and listen to those stupid commercials on TV for SMC, Crazy Fox, and hey, maybe Carleton Sheets can hook me up too.

  24. Amen to that Jackb. This is the third one in two weeks for me. I am also sick and tired of these so called franchises trying to squander my hard earned money that I have saved up through the years. They are no different from the government.

  25. To All fellow Readers:

Consistent with many of the posted complaints, shortly after my Resume was posted on CareerBuilder.com, I received the identical E-Mail discussed in this Blog, from Ms. Van Sickle of FranLook.

Aside from the uninvited solicitation, I took serious exception to the formatted pages of their web site, wherein they actually expected the “applicant” to divulge every detail of their financial holdings, including their net worth. I found this to be so inappropriate on many levels.

    Ken D.

  26. Consistent with many of the posted complaints, shortly after my Resume was posted on CareerBuilder.com, I received the identical E-Mail discussed in this Blog, from Ms. Van Sickle of FranLook.
The phone number answers as her desk after hours, interested if she calls back. I also have won and inherited millions of dollars from all over the world!!!!!!!!! You have to be very careful. Red

  27. I got this same email after I updated my Careerbuilder profile. I forwarded it to the Careerbuilder Fraud alert email address. I immediately got suspicious when the website’s home page said to rollover your 401K into a Franchise. Nice! Take off with our retirement, huh?! And like others here my resume does not indicate in any way that I want to own a franchise. And since when can you finance a franchise. This “Michelle” chic is a moron.

  28. I myself, like any of you, do not appreciate Spam or Scammers either. After receiving a similar email I was very skeptical, too. I took the time to investigate this further and found that Franalysis was actually a legitimate business trying to provide qualified and interested individuals with an alternative to traditional employment. It turns out that they really are partnered with Franchise Businesses who are looking for qualified candidates to operate their business model. My experience with Michelle was a positive one. This really does not seem to be a scam or MLM or any of that. I am talking with a couple of the Franchise Businesses that they hooked me up with and may actually end the cycle of chronic job searching on the Job Websites. Look into it if you are qualified.

    1. Christopher, it’s nice to know that Franalysis is reading my blog, but please don’t pretend to be a legitimate commenter when you’re just trying to put lipstick on the pig that is your employer.

  29. Christopher,, I wouldn’t do that if I were you. The “franchise consulting” business is a scam as are many franchises that sell their client garbage and it takes 5 years of losing money until you break even in most franchises.

Michelle Van Sickle is unprofessional, could care less about you or your resume. They have absolutely no business trying to sell their franchises to a site where people are looking for employment offers. Can you say “snake oil salesman?”

  30. I got the same email. I did some searching, and found this site — it’s great, thanks! People should know that Michelle Pearson and Michelle Van Sickle are the same person. She’s from Bedford, TX. Also, fran-consulting.com and fran-partners have the exact same domain registry. What a coincidence.

  31. Hooray, Careerbuilder strikes again. One day after reposting my resume I received this same email, only from Michelle Pearson this time. The new website (at least before it routes you to franbizfinder.com) is http://www.fran-consulting.com. Seriously, they want me to divulge my net worth and such for something I am not interested in? Who are they kidding. Thanks for the posting, manchicken. Unfortunately, it furthers my disbelief that people can sleep with a clear conscience while pitching this nonsense. My faith in sincerity of the human race continues to dwindle…

  32. Well, Manchicken and everyone else. Best blog I’ve found so far. Just the facts and no fluff – gotta love it.

I did some searching when I got the initial email and found your blog and agree. I need an authentic employer interested in my services, and not some idiot harassing me while I’m in the process. *** Thanks ***

  33. I got the same letter, just a different name. They are getting better. They got a website set up and for the most part looks la-git. is there a way to get them busted, like jail time.

    Michelle Pearson

    Dear D__,

I’d love to speak with you about your resume.

Despite recent economic conditions, a few industries have experienced success – one of them being the franchise industry. I place qualified individuals in various franchises that fit within the realms of their previous work history and acquired talents ultimately training (and equipping) born entrepreneurs with the necessary tools to take the leap towards owning a business and taking control of their futures.

This is a unique opportunity that would allow you to apply your experience towards a business of your own, increasing your earning potential and allowing you some much deserved flexibility in your career.

  38. It appears that this scammer has been around for a while. The letter seems legit, but as always I Google any “offers” like this. I am also extreamly tired of scammers sending out these false job offers, especially when times are tight and the job market is pretty tight. This is the e-mail I received today.

  39. I also thought it would be a good idea to google the address. Guess what it’s a sports card store…. It never ceases to amaze me how thick these scammers are.

  40. Here’s what I got this morning…

    Dear Patrick,

I hope you don’t mind me contacting you, but your credentials are quite impressive and I would love to speak to you. We have helped countless individuals realize they have other options in addition to corporate employment. With unemployment numbers spiking due to massive layoffs and downsizing, many individuals are considering franchises as an alternative.

Owning a franchise is definitely not for everyone but based on your resume, your experience would pre-qualify you for any franchise of your choice. In addition to your job search, let us assist you in exploring this franchise option. There are no obligations, fees, or commitments. I simply want to show you franchise options based on the criteria that you provide.

I’d love to speak with you and provide more insight, as well as answer any questions you may have. Please visit us at http://www.fran-jobs.com for more information.

  41. I wrote a script that floods their “consultation” form with a bunch of bogus information. Overall, I’ve sent over 5,000 submissions, and still counting 🙂

  42. What is it they say?

The same wolf wearing differnt sheeps clothing or something like that?

New company name .. Same scam

    http:// www .franopolis. com

  43. And still it continues. Shame on them for farming the career sites & preying on people who simply want to find relevant, meaningful employment.

I had a great response for her, but I’ll resist sending it since it would just confirm my working email address & you can’t trust these people not to sell you to other spammers.

  44. After you reply to them, they send you this message:

Thanks for expressing your interest in exploring the franchise industry. Most franchisors typically require an initial capital investment in the range of $25K-50K…

  45. This is another one… I do not know where did they get my resume.——————————————————————————–

  48. I received the email too. I think they are using Monster or Career Builder to view my resume. It really sucks when people prey on you when your down! Anyhow, I did a BBB search and this is what it said:

According to information in the BBB files, it appears that the company is no longer in business. The phone numbers the BBB had for this company are disconnected, and directory assistance does not have a listing for this company. The BBB’s mail to this company has been returned as undeliverable. If you have an unresolved dispute with this company you may wish to seek legal advice.

    Go figure… duhhhhh

  49. Adding one more to the list!! I seem to be the first one this year… haha
